Depending on which Rescue Aussie you adopt, your Aussie may be eligible to
compete in a variety of competitive areas: ASCA Obedience and Tracking - Open to any dog who has been issued a Limited Exhibition Priviledge* (LEP) or Indefinite Listing Privilege** (ILP) number through any organized dog registry (such as ASCA or AKC). Many mixed breeds become eligible to compete by registering with AMBOR. ASCA Working (herding) - Open to any Aussie or other "herding-type" breed, or any cross-bred dogs of herding origin from a list published in Appendix 1 of the ASCA Stockdog rules. ASCA, NADAC and USDAA Agility - Open to any dog, including mixed breeds - NADAC and USDAA require the dog to be registered with their organizations prior to the event. |
*"LEP" Limited Exhibition Privilege registration allows purebred Australian Shepherds to compete for degrees in eligible ASCA competitive programs except Conformation. Dogs accepted for an LEP registration number must be spayed or neutered. Click HERE to find out more about LEPs. **"ILP" Indefinite Listing Privilege is the AKC equivalent of an LEP number, and allows unregistered Australian Shepherds to participate in AKC competitive events. Dogs accepted for an ILP registration number must be spayed or neutered. Click HERE to find out more about ILPs. |
